Checkr Background Check Consider
Uber driver background checks are carried out by an independent company -Checkr Inc, contracted by Uber to ensure that drivers have acceptable records (if any). As a potential driver, if your background check is taking too long, contact Checkr, the company that Uber uses to carry out their background checks, and long as you have a clean driving record and a lack of a criminal record, you should be able to pass Uber's background check. There are currently two types of background checks available via Checkr (with more planned for the future.) The Professional option differs from the Standard option by offering an unlimited number of county criminal searches that retrieve candidates' possible criminal records (e.g. convictions, charges) from county courts. Checkr's background checks typically screen potential Uber drivers' records within the past seven years.The first thing to note is that Uber uses a company called Checkr to run background checks on all of their drivers. Taxi licensing commissions typically use a background-check service called Live Scan, which takes drivers' fingerprints, whereas Uber uses services provided by the companies Accurate and/or Checkr. Uber contracts with a company called Checkr to conduct background checks for all potential drivers. Any record that has been expunged should not appear on a Checkr background check because the company is Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) compliant. Correction, August 31, 1:56 p.m. PT: Checkr failed to identify one of 25 drivers whose criminal records weren't seen in the 2016 lawsuit. A 2016 lawsuit revealed that Uber used Hirease and Checkr for background checks of its drivers. Although Uber contracts with a major background checking company called Checkr , Uber has the responsibility of making the final decision about drivers based on the information provided to them by Checkr.
Back in July, Checkr announced the roll out of Continuous Check,” which will provide its major client Uber with dynamic screenings” in order to cancel the contracts of drivers who incur infractions while working for the company. When Yanisse launched his tech-enabled background-check company Checkr in 2014, all he knew about criminal records was that clients didn't like them. Checkr can return background checks and driving records for candidates much quicker than traditional firms, most within 24 hours.
Checkr didn't immediately respond to questions about the service's pricing, but historically, Checkr has billed its clients per individual background check, which includes education verification, reference checks, and drug screening. Checkr, the company that performs the Uber background check, notes that it takes 3-7 business days while most drivers claim that it takes 3-5 days. The Checkr screening solution uses artificial intelligence or AI to classify background data to provide more relevant reports.
The background check is pending for a longer time than usual for one of two reasons: 1) There is a pending county search, where Checkr must verify records at the source county court level.
